Marvel One-A-Day - Day 82: Firebird

In honor of the baseball team, I kick off Texas Rangers week. Marvel had a super hero team for every state following the "Superhero Civil War" and Texas' team was called the Rangers, of course. This is Firebird. She makes fire, as you might imagine.

Out of Town - Go Rangers!!

Out of town a few more days, going to see the Rangers and Yankees in Dallas. Go Rangers!!! I will be back with more one a days on Monday.

Marvel One-A-Day - Day 81: Havok

It just felt like this one needed colors, to get the force blast goin' on. Done by request (hence the birdcage hat, which I am not a big fan of.)

Marvel One-A-Day - Day 80: Rockslide

Rockslide, another one of the newer, younger X-Men. Also, this was done by request, so as requested, you also get a guest appearance of Anole, who I drew way back in the first week or two of my one a days. But he doesn't formally count in the tally of characters, since I already drew him.

Marvel One-A-Day - Day 79: Longshot

In celebration of my beloved Texas Rangers winning their playoff series tonight, I present Longshot! The Rangers have been a "longshot" their whole franchise history, and they remain a longshot to beat the Yankees, but with perhaps a little bit of this mutant's famous luck they can move on to the World Series!

Marvel One-A-Day - Day 78: Trance, Loa, and Dust

These three are among the newest and youngest X-Men. I think its a general attempt to keep the X-Men angsty and relevant, that they add new teen members all the time. Nothing new. Remember Leech and Artie Maddicks? Kitty Pryde? Jubilee? The New Mutants?

On the left we have Dust, she is a Muslim wearing the traditional Burqa. She turns into, well, Dust.

In the center, on the couch, is Trance. She goes into a trance and can project a ghost, or astral projection.

And on the right is Loa. She is a new version of Kitty Pryde, except I think she shreds the crap out of whatever she goes through. She is hell on Sentinels.

Marvel One-A-Day - Day 77: Iceman and Firestar

This kicks off X-Men week. My favorite merry Marvel mutants. And since the X-Men are a team, I am going to make an effort to do several team-ups of more than one character to challenge myself.

When I was a kid, I already loved comics, but the thing that got me into Marvel, was the Saturday morning cartoon, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. The "Amazing Friends" were the X-Men: Iceman and Firestar. I definitely liked Spidey, but this series totally got me hooked on X-Men comics. I've been a sucker for them ever since.
